Social Work

The mission of the UAFS Social Work program is to prepare students to succeed in an ever changing global world by promoting human and community wellbeing. We educate and prepare students at the undergraduate level to work to improve the quality of life of persons in society. With pertinent knowledge and professional experience, students are equipped to improve the lives of community members, to develop and assist with innovative programs and services that promote social and economic justice for all community members. Social worker volunteering

Our Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program of study is consistent with the profession’s purpose and values. Our students benefit from a robust curriculum that blends theory with practice. They confidently graduate as ethical practitioners and leaders who advance social justice, who nurture the dignity of persons, and empower people who are vulnerable and oppressed. Our students participate in internships and community immersion while fusing knowledge and practice with an emphasis on building human relationships. The UAFS Social Work Program has achieved Candidacy for Accreditation by the Council on Social Work Education’s Commission on Accreditation.
