Going to college isn't just about attending classes on campus. It's about the whole university experience — with events to attend, teams to root for, groups to join, and people to meet. We encourage you to get involved and make the most out of your college years.
Consider living on campus to take your college experience to the next level. All units are furnished and offer free on-site laundry facilities, high-speed Wi-Fi, and state-of-the-art security.
Enjoy a crowd-pleasing selection of many of your favorite foods along with some of our own tasty specialties. In addition to the Lion's Den Dining Hall, the Campus Center Food Court has all your favorites including Slim Chickens, Cabo, Starbucks, and other to-go items.
Lions Athletics is truly something to cheer about. Competing sports include men’s and women’s basketball, tennis, cross-country, and golf, plus men’s baseball and women’s volleyball.
Health & Wellness
At UAFS we care about the whole student. We offer various recreational programs as well as health services and facilities to ensure that you are able to fully care for yourself and make the most of your college experience.
UAFS was recently named the safest university in Arkansas, earning praise from online safety resource YourLocalSecurity.com. UAFS reports drastically lower crime rates than the national averages, and UPD goes above and beyond the call of duty, implementing proactive safety measures across campus.
A Message from the Dean of Students
Getting involved on campus can be a life-changing experience. You can expect to learn about leadership and many other skills that employers desire. You can expect to make memories that will last a lifetime and friendships that will last just as long. You can expect to be challenged, and you can expect to find support from our very talented faculty and staff advisors. Lastly, you can expect to grow and develop as a young professional. The person you are today will forever be changed by the people and programs you choose to connect with here at UAFS.
I believe that the university environment can be a magical one. The choice is truly up to you. I hope that you will choose to engage in activities and events on campus and that this engagement connects you with people who will guide you on your college journey and beyond. I hope you will realize the joys and the struggles of being a student leader. I hope you will connect with UAFS and the greater Fort Smith community. I hope you will learn what it means to make a difference, and I hope that you will always be proud to be a Lion.
